Are you observant? Do you share via text or social media delays or episodes on your commute? You could be a participant in our project.

The New York Times, unfortunately, cannot physically be on or near every rail line to report when mishaps happen. That’s where we need your eyes and ears.

We are looking for subway, Long Island Rail Road, New Jersey Transit, Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak riders who commute daily to assist with our coverage of transportation into and out of the New York City.

• Do you have a knack for noticing details?

• Are you a curious person?

• Are you a question-asker?

• Do you ever text or post on social media during your commute to provide updates about delays or other episodess?

If you answered yes to two or more of those questions, you are whom we are looking for: commuters to help us document news events on our region’s rail lines. If you would like to participate in this project, please fill out the form below. Your information will not be shared. If you are chosen, an editor will reach out to you with more details about the project.
